Safe versus Secure

A safe home means that you are free from being injured from hazards.

A secure home means that you are not going to lose it.

A secure home means that the doors and windows are locked and the threats are kept out.

If a car is safe, it means you are not likely to be injured in an accident. (Air bags, Blind-Spot Warning)

If a car is secure, it means it is not likely to be stolen. (Alarms, Steering Wheel Lock)


Also, secure tends to be used as a verb as in to secure something:
